The business portion of my practice focuses on a wide array of corporate and associated legal and business matters from the acquisition, formation and structuring of a business(es), to the day-to-day operations of a business through the potential sale or disposition of a business. For many clients, I act as “general counsel” to their business as any issues arise. I manage nearly all business legal issues but I always have specialists on standby for particularly specialized issues such as intellectual property, complex employment law matters or similar.
The majority of my real estate practice deals with leasing, purchase or sale, including due diligence, and financing of commercial properties as well as standard and complex 1031 tax-deferred exchanges transactions. For commercial properties, I am able to assist with landlord/tenant matters. For residential properties, I regularly advise clients on the purchase, sale and financing of residential property including assistance with purchase and sale agreements, due diligence matters and the escrow closing process associated with residential real estate.

My practice is built upon this unique one-on-one relationship that, oftentimes, becomes a long-term and mutually beneficial relationship.Unlike large and mid-sized law firms, I am responsible for having a full understanding of each legal and business issue and I, individually, handle all documentation, negotiation and related issues. As a sole practitioner with over 20 years of experience and education in law, real estate and business, I manage my practice in a far different fashion than most traditional law firms.

No, I do not handle residential landlord/tenant disputes or eviction/unlawful detainer actions. These types of legal matters are best handled by a specialist that consistently deals with the relevant and associated issues and the specific eviction/unlawful detainer court process.
No, my practice is specifically focused and specialized on transactional business, real estate and estate planning matters. My experience and expertise is in these particular areas and, for that reason, I do not handle any arbitration or litigation matters whether related to business, real estate or estate planning. I do not go to court nor file papers or documents with any court. I do, however, represent clients in mediations related to business and real estate issues and have significant experience in doing so.

All matters are handled on an hourly or time-based manner or a flat/fixed fee basis. Legal issues that are more predictable or routine, such as formation of a new business entity (LLC, corporation, etc.) or a foundational estate plan, are handled on a flat/fixed fee basis. On other matters that involve an unknown amount of time or resources, such as the purchase or sale of a business or the negotiation of a contract with a new client or vendor, is typically handled on an hourly or time-based fashion. The fee structure is always fully discussed and disclosed upfront and mutually agreed upon by myself and my clients so to avoid any “surprise” billings or invoices.
